TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT) Usually at this time of year, the amount of water spilling over Shoshone Falls doesn't look very impressive. But a cold wet spring this year helped contribute to the flows which have been well above usual. In fact, the Bureau of Reclamation says these are the third highest flows in 80 years. The excessively high flows, now at 5500 cubic feet per second, could very well mean record revenues for Shoshone Falls Park.

Dennis Bowyer, Director of Twin Falls Parks and Recreation, says, "I think we're gonna be over $300,000. Our record high was back in 2006, we did about 271. And I think we'll have 300. I don't have my reports for September, but I think it's gonna be another record month for the month of September."

Bowyer says they sold more than 800 season passes to Shoshone Falls and Dierkes Lake this year. This is the last weekend this year that the Parks and Recreation Department will be charging an admission fee to get in, so hopefully the impressive flows will continue for the next few weeks.
