Summer Tourism On The Rise In Twin Falls
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The summer tourism season is shaping up to be better than recent years in Twin Falls.
There may still be a few more weeks of summer left.
But already, city officials say visitor numbers are on track for another big year.
"We were traveling through some of the states and we got as far as Idaho and we thought what is there to see here, we liked the name. So we thought we would come and have a look” said Colleen Canning, Australia Tourist.
There has been many direct visitors.
People who plan their trips around twin falls to stop by and see what the city has to offer.
"Most definitely our trip was planned; we wanted to see the beauty of the falls here” said Jennifer Davis, Las Vegas Tourist.
"We had heard really good things; we heard it was a really great site to see and came and stopped by” said Aubrey Green, Oregon Tourist.
Dierkes Lake attracts locals in the summer months, which means safety is a top priority for lifeguards.
"Most of our accidents happen back at Hidden Lakes our boss always says we haven't had a serious accident in like 30 years, and so it's pretty mellow here we don't have to many accidents” Joshua Arters, Lifeguard at Dierkes Lake.
Arters said, there hasn't been a decrease of swimmers with the bad air quality.
This is the last week lifeguards will be on duty at the lake as the summer fun comes to an end.
