Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - Supporting the youth of tomorrow, that's the goal of the many Farm Bureau Agents across the Magic Valley.
"Were going to call it the Magic Valley Youth Foundation and were going to use that as a way that we can help local youth... we'll provide grants through the money we raise, we'll provide grants from the to start businesses," said Neil Hazelbaker, Twin Falls Farm Bureau.
From crop insurance to home and auto... Farm bureau of Idaho has been backing Idahoans for decades. And now the insurance specialist is taking on an even deeper role in shaping the Gem State.
"There is a lot of people in this community who would give money to charitable organizations if they just had a way," said Hazelbaker.
And with the formation of the Magic Valley youth foundation... They finally have a way. The grants the foundation will be handing out is designed to help young entrepreneurs realize their dream of owning their own business.
"It could be money for a lawnmower for a kid to start a lawn mowing business or for 4–H calves... any of those kinds of things," said Hazelbaker.
While the Magic Valley Youth Foundation is still in its infancy. The organization is planning a big kickoff fundraiser event.
And for longtime and first time golfers, it's an event you won't want to miss.
It's the 1st annual Ron Boyd Memorial Golf Scramble.
"It will be happening on Friday August 8th and what we're doing there is using that, like you said, as a kickoff for establishing funds in the Magic Valley Youth foundation," said Paul Johnson, Twin Falls Farm Bureau.
All of the money raised from the golf scramble will go directly to the youth foundation.
"This is a way for us to give back and show as Magic Valley Farm Bureau Insurance Agents that we care and that were doing something to help the community,” said Johnson. “And let's face it... the youth are what builds our community, what builds our state, and frankly... our nation."
Locals helping to make the Magic Valley a thriving business region for the leaders of tomorrow.
