The other type of tree we carry is the Noble Fir, which is another tree with strong branches for ordainments. And they're very strong branches too... they're more horizontally spaced. "
Once you've decide which kind of tree you want.
Ruhter says there are a few simple things to keep in mind when picking out the perfect tree.
"Generally you want to see if the needles are holding on... they can run their hand over the branches and see if the needles are staying on the tree.
After that its personal preference, so do I want a sparse tree or do I want a full tree? What the shape I'm looking for?
There's a wide variety."
Once you choose a tree, keeping the needles green is the next challenge.
"The key is to make it a fresh cut, right prior to you just setting it up in your house. Taking the bottom edge of the base off the trunk so that it can be taking up water.
And then once you get it in your house and stood up... making certain that you keep water in your tree stand."
