UPDATED INFORMATION: Six Homes Destroyed In Blaze Near Mountain Home
Mountain Home, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A wildfire in Mountain Home destroyed multiple houses. Crews were able to save about 15 to 20 homes, but eleven buildings were lost to the flames, including six homes. Emergency administrators evacuated between 25 to 30 residents and fortunately nobody was injured. The fire burned about 150 acres of land. According to BLM spokesperson Mallory Eils, the fire was reported about 7:30 Monday night. BLM fire administrators say that this is the most active fire season they have seen in June in the last ten years. On BLM land this year there have been 32 fires burning a total of twenty-thousand acres. Only three of these fires were started by natural causes. At the peak of the fire, close to 100 firefighters were on scene.
