One Vehicle Rollover Leads To Arrest

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) One person was arrested following a one vehicle rollover that happened just before 3pm this afternoon. Idaho State Police say that Michael Cox, 26 from Washington was westbound in a White Ford Taurus was traveling near milepost 192 on I-84 when he fell asleep. He drifted off the left side of the road, overcorrected, and crossed both lanes of traffic. He then hit an embankment causing the vehicle to overturn and land on its top. A passenger in the vehicle walked away from the scene. The Passenger, Sean Clarke, 23 from Boise, fled the scene due to a warrant for his arrest out of Elmore County. Clarke was apprehended, and is now in custody. Cox is also in custody for Driving Without Privileges and obstructing law enforcement officers at the scene of the crash. Cox and Clarke were both transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's in Jerome with minor injuries, and will be transported to Jerome County Jail when medically cleared.
Clarke was not wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown if Cox was wearing his.
