Haystack Fire And Grass Fire Keep Northside Firefighters Busy
Jerome/Wendell, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Jerome and Wendell Fire Departments have combined resources to battle a couple of fires. At around 2pm crews were called out to the Veenstra Dairy at 2675 South 1300 East near Wendell. Fire Chief Bob Bailey with the Wendell Fire Department said that over a thousand tons of hay at the dairy is on fire. It appears the fire began as internal combustion. The fire chief predicts the fire will burn for several days.
Meanwhile, another fire is burning just west of Jerome near the 100 North road. The Wendell and Jerome fire department worked to douse the grass fire that was just off the West Jerome I-84 exit. At this time, it’s not known what caused that fire. As of 2:50 pm this afternoon, firefighters feel they have the upper hand on the blaze. Comments ( |
