Shoshone Highway And Sidewalk Improvements Begin Monday

By KMVT News

Shoshone, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) – Work begins Monday, July 29th to reconstruct the highway and sidewalks at the junction of U.S. 93 and U.S. 26 at the railroad crossing. The project will impact traffic for the next two months, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The project involves reconstructing the roadway through the junction on both the north and South sides of the crossing. The work also will replace several areas of curb, gutter and sidewalk adjacent to the roadway reconstruction to improve stormwater drainage and comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
Drivers may expect delays, and traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the construction zone. Drivers should use caution and watch for flaggers for the duration of the project.
There is a 10-foot width limit for large trucks. Drivers should consider an alternate route to avoid traffic conflicts. Work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
