Beaver Creek Complex Fire Grows While Officials Consider More Evacuations
Fairfield, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Beaver Creek Fire Complex which is burning in Camas and now Blaine Counties grew over 15,000 acres during the night.
The fire which was reported to be burning 32,816 acres Saturday Evening has now engulfed nearly 48,000 acres according to BLM officials. 532 firefighters are battling the fire which is still 0 percent contained.
The Forest Service has closed the the entire Fairfield Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest.
Blaine County officials have confirmed that residents of the Deer Creek drainage north of Hailey should be prepared to evacuate in the event an order is given.
A spokesman with the Ketchum Fire Department said evacuations in their fire district are being considered but that will be coordinated with the United States Forest Service.
The Forest Service will have a type 1 team and an information post setup at Deer Creek later today. We have a crew on the way to the Wood River Valley and will bring you the latest information throughout the day.
