Burley Law Enforcement Contract To Expire September 30th
The city of Burley as rejected the Cassia County's offer for a law enforcement contract.
Cassia County estimated a price of 1.9 million dollars to continue the contract, but agreed to provide law enforcement services for 1.5 million. The Burley city council countered with 1.4 million dollars.
Cassia County commissioner explained that state and federal cutbacks are substantially larger than in previous years. As a result they don't want to burden Cassia County tax payers unfairly.
As it Stands the Cassia County's law enforcement contract with the city of Burley will expire at the end of September.
Cassia County regrets that the city of Burley did not accept the county's offer.
