Jerome Firefighters Quickly Put Out House Fire

JEROME, IDAHO (KMVT-TV) - Jerome firefighters saved a home from becoming a total loss on Tuesday morning.

Crews responded to a fire at 901 First Avenue East just before nine.

Firemen arrived to find the front of the home engulfed in flames and the entire home filled with smoke.

They were able to douse the flames before they spread.

Jerome Fire Captain Jeremy Presnell said there was no one inside the house at the time.

"We did an excellent job. We arrived on scene quick and deployed the hose lines and started working,” said Captain Jeremy Presnell, Jerome Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
