Officials Continue To Investigate California Plane Crash
UPDATE 1:50 PM - Investigators have still yet to officially release the names of the individuals involved in the crash. It is believed that Morley Builders CEO and President Mark John Benjamin 63 and his son Luke Benjamin are two of the people on board.
According to the Morley Builders website, they are aware of the crash at the Santa Monica Airport Sunday Night. Morley Builders Vice President Charles Muttillo issued a statement on its website Monday morning. “While we do not have specific facts, we believe that our President and CEO, Mark Benjamin, and his son, Luke Benjamin, a Senior Project Engineer with us were on board. We are unable to issue a further statement at this time. We will provide you with more updates as soon as we learn of them.”
UPDATE: 11:08 p.m. Santa Monica, California ( KCBS / KCAL ) There is still no word yet on casualties or who was aboard the flight.
ORIGINAL STORY: Santa Monica, California ( KCBS / KCAL ) A plane that originated in Hailey, crashed at Santa Monica Airport Sunday evening.
A twin-engine Cessna Citation went off the runway and crashed at the airport.
The incident occurred at 6:20 p.m.
The plane apparently struck a hangar, according to Ian Gregor, public affairs manager for the FAA.
There is no word on how many people were on board or their condition.
