Fog Creating Hazardous Driving In Parts Of Magic Valley

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Rescue crews and Police are staying very busy this morning as the fog is creating hazardous driving conditions in portions of the Magic Valley area.

In addition to visibility, a thin covering of ice on roadways is another danger. There have been several accidents reported in Jerome and Twin Falls counties. So far there have been no fatalities.

The Idaho Transportation department is noting several locations motorists should be aware of.

Highway 46 between U.S. 26 and U.S. 20, 28 miles north of the Gooding area has Icy patches. That’s the same problem for highway 92 between Idaho 25, 8 miles north of the Twin Falls area. Icy roads are also noted for U.S. 20 to Front Street in Shoshone, Idaho Highway 24 between the Lincoln county line, 15 miles east of the Minidoka area and U.S. 93 near Shoshone. U.S. 26 between 2000 East near Gooding and U.S. 93; Idaho 75 near Shoshone also is has icy patches.

The forecast calls for the fog to be in the area till about 11am this morning.
