Inmates Escape From Northern Idaho Prison

Grangeville, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Two inmates who escaped from the North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood, may be headed toward southern Idaho.

The Idaho County Sheriff's Office says Ridge Scott Dains from Boise and Caleb Joe Thomas from Caldwell escaped just after midnight.

They say it's possible they were picked up by someone and may be headed toward southern Idaho.

Dains is 21, is listed as 5'10'' tall, about 140 lbs with hazel eyes and short brown hair with several tattoos.

Dains is incarcerated on burglary charges. Dains has a history of Battery, Theft, False Information to Officer, Resisting or Obstructing, Probation Violation, Possession of Controlled Substance and other lesser charges.

Thomas is 20 years old, he’s 6’1”, 186 lbs with short brown hair and blue eyes, also with tattoos.

Thomas is incarcerated for grand theft, arson and destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. His criminal record includes convictions in Canyon and Payette counties for solicitation to commit perjury, 1st degree arson, destruction of evidence and grand theft.

The men may be wearing white t-shirts, brown boots, blue jean jackets and either orange jumpsuits or blue jean pants.
