UPDATE: Search Continues For NV Murder Suspect

UPDATE: According to KTVN, there's a fear for safety for Brentlinger's ex–girlfriend as there's a guard outside her room at the hospital.

Carson City, Nevada ( KTVN ) A suspect wanted in a homicide that occurred in Carson City Saturday morning may be headed to Idaho.

Detectives from the Carson City Sheriff's Office says the shooting is the result of a domestic conflict.

Authorities are looking for Michael Dylan Brentlinger, 22, who is believed to have shot his ex-girlfriend with a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun. When deputies arrived to a residence in east Carson City, they found the 19-year old woman with a gun shot wound to her head. She was air-lifted to Renown Regional Medical Center. They also discovered the woman's father dead of a gun shot wound.

KTVN is reporting that Brentlinger was recently in custody in the Carson City Jail on charges related to an assault against this woman. She allegedly had a restraining order against him.

Sheriff Ken Furlong says Brentlinger may be headed to Driggs, Idaho, where, according to his Facebook page, he had previously resided.

They say he fled the scene in a 2002 white Chevrolet Cavalier with Nevada license plate 948-XAT.
