New Developments Revealed Concerning Canyon Jump

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - There is a new development being revealed concerning the planned jump of the Snake River Canyon next year. A question has been brought up about air space rights in and around the jump area. Big Ed Beckley won the bid to the landing area in Jerome County with the Idaho department of Lands for $943,000. When a question as to who owned the airspace above the land was brought up, Beckley contacted the State for clarification as to exactly what rights he purchased.

In a letter to Beckley, The Department explained, “The jump lease includes the leased state lands and airspace.” The letter went on to say, “The nature and purpose of the Jump Lease make it clear that the airspace over the leased state lands is an integral component of the Jump Lease.”

The city of Twin Falls, who received the letter Wednesday, is working with Bill Carberry, manager of the Twin Falls airport, to validate the letter.

Idaho’s First News is investigating this new development to find out which candidates this will affect and will have the very latest as it unfolds on KMVT at Noon and on KMVT.COM.
