One Man Injured Following Shooting In Twin Falls County

UPDATE: Authorities have released more information. The Twin Falls Sheriff’s office said that on January 14, at 2:30pm, Deputies met with Edsel Garcia, 19, of Twin Falls at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. Mr. Garcia drove himself to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the abdomen. He stated this happened when he tried to release the magazine from the .22 caliber rifle and inadvertently hit the trigger. He stated he was in the Cottonwood Creek area off of Foothill Road when it occurred.

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Twin Falls county sheriff deputies are investigating a shooting involving a man. According to Lori Stewart with the Sheriff’s office, the male came to the Twin Falls hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The incident happened in the foothills area south of Twin Falls. At this point the victim is conscious and talking and it appears the injury is non life threatening. It appears the shooting may have been an accident. Until the incident is further investigated, more information will not be released including the victims name, officials say.
