Plane Crash in Burley kills Four Family Members
BURLEY, IDAHO (KMVT-TV) - A plane crash Southwest of the Burley Airport has killed all four people on board.
The accident Sunday afternoon occurred around 2:30 when the plane stalled on takeoff according to Mark Mitton, the City Administrator in Burley.
The plane crashed in dry grass near Highway 30 just past the railroad tracks. Upon impact the plane burst into flames. The fire quickly spread to the dry grass.
Fire department personnel from the Burley Fire Department responded to douse the flames. Officials say that Highway 30 and the Business I-84 loop will be closed until the Federal Aviation Administration conducts their investigation.
Mike Fergus, a spokesman for the Northwest Region of the FAA in Renton, Washington, said they expect to be on scene Monday.
The names of the people who died have not been released. Fergus said they also didn’t know where the plane was headed to or who the plane was registered to.
