Washington D.C. (KMVT-TV) There may be new hope for the release of captured Idaho solider Bowe Bergdahl.

The international news agency Reuters is reporting the U.S. is rethinking a prisoner swap with the Taliban.

The Obama administration is in Afghan peace talks over a proposed deal under which would transfer Taliban detainees from Guantanamo Bay prison in exchange for U.S. soldier Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.

Bowe disappeared from his base in Southern Afghanistan in June 2009 and is believed to be held by Taliban militants in Northwestern Pakistan.
