State Of Emergency Declaired By Bannock County Commissioners Due to Brush Fire

Pocatello, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A brush fire is burning out of control south of Pocatello. A house has burned and according to reports from the area, more structures are nearby. The fire is forcing evacuation of the neighborhood on Charlotte Drive and North Mink Creek Road area. the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office is evacuating the entire neighborhood. According to local news, the evacuees are being told to go to the LDS church on the Bannock Highway and Portneuf Road. At an emergency meeting, Bannock County commissioners this afternoon declared a state of emergency, which will allow the county to ask for help from federal and state governments if needed, and the other banning all fireworks in unincorporated areas of the county, as well as open fires. The ban will not affect Independence Day fireworks shows in cities. It will last until further notice.
