Storm Sparks Several Fires On Twin Falls District BLM Land

Southern Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The storm that passed through the area last night started several fires in the Twin Falls District of the Bureau Of Land Management. So far, no structures are threatened on any of the fires. The largest of these fires is the Horse Butte 2 near Castleford. It’s estimated at 4000 acres as of 7:30 am this morning. It started at 5:30 last night 25 miles SouthWest of Castleford. It’s currently burning grass and brush. The BLM has 10 engines, 1 dozer, 2 water tenders and a helicopter assigned to the fire. Containment is expected around 8pm Thursday with Control at 8pm on Saturday.

The Brown’s Gulch Fire four miles south of Hammett is estimated at 2000 acres this morning. The fire started about 6:25 pm last night. Containment is predicted to be at 6pm tonight.
The Big Pilgrim fire southeast of Glenns Ferry is estimated at 55 acres. Containment expected by 10am this morning.
