Fires Burning Across Magic Valley

UPDATE (9:48 PM) More fires are being reported across the Magic Valley.

A large fire has been reported in Jerome County. Authorities are blocking off roads near 800 E and 200 and 300 N. They are also asking drivers to avoid the area at this time. No word on evacuations or structures being threatened.

The Millerd Fire is burning between Dietrich and Shoshone. Officials with the Bureau of Land Management say it has burned about 500 acres at this time.

BLM Officials are currently fighting the Coonskin Butte Complex. It consists of three different fires burning in the same area. So far, they have burned about 3,000 acres.

Also near Castleford, the Crows Nest Fire has torched about 400 acres.

Castleford, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Two fires have been reported southwest of Castleford.

The larger fire was reported around 5:00 PM and has burned approximately 800 acres. At this time the cause of these fires are still under investigation.

The BLM has said that they have 7 engines and 10 aircraft, among other crews fighting the blaze.
