Vehicle Accident Completely Shuts Down Portion of Highway 93

UPDATE: Police say the accident happened around 5:15 Thursday night.Nickolas J. Fernandez, 17 of Jerome was driving a 2004 Dodge Intrepid north on U.S. 93. He had slowed to turn west onto 200 South. Enemorio Gutierrez, 41 of Bellevue, was driving a Ford Van also northbound. Gutierrez swerved left to avoid hitting Fernandez. Gutierrez was cited for following to close. The lanes were blocked for about an hour and a half. It was re-opened at 6:45pm.

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Idaho State Police are on the scene of a vehicle accident along US 93 in Jerome County.

The crash happened at 200 South near milepost 57.

Traffic is blocked and being rerouted. It is suggested that motorists avoid the area.

In a press release, the Idaho State Police say that there were no injuries.
