Vehicle Fire and Semi Truck Accident Slows Travel In Area
UPDATE: From the Idaho State Police: On January 8, 2014, at approximately 11:55 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 50 near milepost 3, south of the Hansen Bridge. Lori Bertsch, age 43, of Twin Falls, was traveling in a 2008 Nissan Altima. Angel Martinez, age 30, of Blackfoot was traveling south on State Highway 50 in a 2007 Peterbilt pulling two trailers. Bertsch was traveling west on Addison Ave, turned north onto State Highway 50, and was struck by Martinez's vehicle.
The northbound lane of State Highway 50 was blocked for approximately one and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - There are a couple of incidences that are slowing traffic in the Magic Valley this noon hour. A semi truck has collided with another vehicle just South of the Hansen Bridge in Twin Falls County. Early reports say there is some partial lane blockage. No serious injuries have been reported.
A vehicle fire has been reported along I-84 in Jerome county in the eastbound lane near milemarker 163. Idaho State police and Fire rescue from Jerome are on the scene. Again, no serious injuries are reported.
Both were reported right before 12 noon.
For both locations, traffic will be slowed while officials investigate. If you are traveling in those areas, consider an alternate route or expect traffic delays.
