Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The first full day of Cayde Lish's voluntary manslaughter trial began today. Defense attorney Keith Roark insisted that Lish didn't stab Jerimiah Piaz until Lish felt his life was threatened. Ada County Prosecutor George Gunn questioned witnesses including the Twin Falls Police officer, the ambulance attendant, and the emergency room doctor. Piaz had been stabbed with a knife at least four times. Police responded to Canyon Crest Event Center just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday October 6th, 2012. The ambulance arrived five minutes later. Piaz was taken to St. Luke's Magic Valley, where he was declared dead at 1:36 a.m. after 16 minutes of attempted resuscitation. Other witnesses will be questioned this afternoon.
