Winter Storm Possible Thursday Morning

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Another round of winter weather will occur Thursday morning just in time for the morning commute. Winter Weather Advisories as well as Winter Storm warnings are in effect across southern Idaho and the Wood River region tonight into Thursday afternoon. Snow and rain will begin to fall after midnight tonight for the valleys with all snow in the mountains. By 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. all precipitation should change over to snow just in time for the ride to school and the drive to work.

The Weather Authority Team expects 1 to 3 inches of snow to fall in the Valleys by Thursday midday with 2 to 5 inches of snow in the South Hills and the Wood River region from Bellevue up to Ketchum and Sun Valley. 5 to 10 inches are possible north of Ketchum up towards Stanley and Galena Summit. Winds will also increase to 15 to 25 mph causing localized areas of blowing and drifting snow. You will want to plan on giving yourself extra time Thursday morning as you prepare for your day.
