Kelley Fire Burning Near Featherville

Featherville, Idaho ( KMVT-TV KTWT-TV ) - The U.S. Forest Service is battling a blaze 7 miles southeast of Featherville today. The lightning caused fire was detected on Saturday August 24. So far it’s burned 300 acres and is 5% contained. Currently 150 personnel are on the scene. The Kelley Fire is in a steep inaccessible area on the Fairfield Ranger District. Crews are working to construct line around the fire. Estimated date for containment is September 7, 2013. No control date has been determined at this time. The Incident Command Post will be at Chapparal Campground. A Type 2 Incident Command Team will be arriving to assume command for the fire by August 29, 2013.

This closure order closes the South Fork of the Boise River Road #227 from the Forest Boundary near Featherville, East to Skeleton Creek, then South to Lime Creek Trail (see attached map). This closure includes Baumgartner Campground.
