More Evacuations Ordered For Ketchum/Sun Valley Area

NEW MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED--BEAVER CREEK FIRE

UPDATE 1:45 PM – Traffic is currently backing up from the East Fork Greenhorn light to the St. Lukes Wood River Hospital area near Hailey. Motorists should expect delays
All of Croy Creek residents are under the pre-evacuation notice. Residents there are encouraged to prepare for immediate evacuation to the South. You are asked to avoid the Ketchum and Sun Valley areas. If you Feel you are in danger, the sheriff’s office said to leave immediately.
UPDATE 12:45 PM - FROM THE SHERIFFS OFFICE IN HAILEY: PLEASE LIMIT USE ON CELLULAR NETWORK
Emergency Managers request that the public limit use of the cellular network so that essential services can continue in the Valley. Thank you for your cooperation.
UPDATE 12:40 PM - The fire is now spreading northeast of Ketchum and Hailey. Red Cross has set up their emergency services facility at the community campus in Hailey next to the airport. Residents should log on to www.blainecounty.org and sign up for the evergridge alert system for up to the minute reports.
UPDATE 11:40 AM -- Officials are now saying they are backing off on the pre-evacuation orders for Sun Valley. Ketchum orders remain in effect.
Ketchum, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The Blaine County Sheriff’s office has issued a new evacuation order for the areas near the fire. Officials say everyone in Baker Creek on the West side of Highway 75 South to North Fork including the Easley area need to leave now. Take your essential belongings and pets and go now, is the message from the Sheriff. The evacuation does not include Galena Lodge at this time.
Residents are encouraged to evacuate south. If you are physically unable to evacuate, call 911. All services to these areas will be discontinued and residents will not be allowed to re-enter until the danger has passed.
Meanwhile, there are new Pre-evacuation areas that have been identified.
Indian Creek to North Fork on both sides of Highway 75 including Warm Springs, the City of Ketchum and Sun Valley are all under this warning. The sheriff office said begin preparations now so that you can leave immediately if conditions deteriorate. If you are in danger, DO NOT WAIT for a Evacuation Order.
