Highway Patrol Officer Killed In Vegas

Visalia, California (CNN) - Two people, including a California patrol officer, are dead following a carjacking on the Las Vegas strip. Officer Jesus Magdaleno and his brother in-law were in Vegas to celebrate the officer's bachelor party.
Police say the two were at the flamingo casino and hotel valet area picking up the officer's truck when a suspect got in the driver's seat.
Investigators say the man forced the officer and his brother into the bed of the vehicle and took off, eventually crashing.
The victims were thrown out of the vehicle.
Back in California, friends of the officer were shocked to learn of his death.
He was always there for you know, if there's ever a problem, i had some problems one night some people were trying to come around and j was right over making sure that everything was good. He was someone we could always go to and he's really really going to be missed.
The suspect, a 29-year-old from California, is now charged with murder, first degree kidnapping and other offenses.
