City Of Jerome Announces Resignation Of Fire Chief
An earlier headline incorrectly said that the Jerome Fire Chief retired. That was incorrect. He announced his resignation. Idaho's First News regrets the error.
Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Jerome Fire Chief Jack Krill has resigned his position. That is according to a news release issued by Zoe Monahan on behalf of the city. Krill was recruited in 2011 to serve as a Deputy Fire Chief and later accepted the position of Chief in 2012. According to the release “Unfortunately for personal and professional reasons, Krill has decided to pursue other opportunities and after extensive thought and reflection has resigned.” According to the release, Krill was hoping to continue to serve Jerome as an on-call Deputy Fire Chief but according to Monahan, the city is not currently able to offer such a position.
The news release goes on to say that during his time with the city, Krill improved fire fighter safety and training, developed fire officers, successfully commanded the largest fire in Jerome history with no fire fighter injuries, designed and managed the construction of a fire training facility and helped save the city’s fire insurance rating among other accomplishments.
