Bicyclist Killed Along Boise Street
UPDATE: Boise Police have arrested a man following the hit and run that left one man dead. Gavin B. Haley, 31 of Boise has been charged with leaving the scene of an injury crash and according to the Boise Police Department, more charges could follow.
Officers arrested Haley after he turned himself into Boise Police earlier this evening. As Haley was arriving at the police station, officers were arriving at Haley's Northwest Boise home after detectives gathered information that identified him as the suspect. Officers have seized Haley's vehicle, a 2003 black Land Rover as evidence in the case. The arrest came just hours after Boise Police publically released a detailed description of the suspect and suspect vehicle as a result of evidence gathered in the investigation.
Haley is accused of hitting a cyclist on State Street near North 30th at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, September 26th. The cyclist, Victor Haskell, 53 of Garden City was found on the roadway several hours later. He had died of his injuries.
UPDATE: Boise Sept 27th, 2013, 3:30 p.m. - Boise Police detectives want your help identifying a possible suspect in the fatal hit and run incident that took place on Thursday. During the course of the investigation detectives have obtained new evidence that may help citizens identify the driver. At this time detectives believe the crash took place early in the morning on State Street near North 30th at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Thursday September 26th.
Possible Suspect Description: Evidence indicates the suspect may be a light skinned adult male. The man may be approximately 200 lbs, around 6 feet tall with dark hair. The suspect does not appear to have any facial hair.
Updated Possible Suspect Vehicle Information: Evidence indicates the suspect was driving a dark colored SUV at the time of the crash. The vehicle may be a 2003 or 2004 Land Rover Discovery. The suspect vehicle would likely have significant damage to the right front side, including possibly damage to the windshield and the metal frame surrounding the windshield.
Again, officers are hoping to speak with anyone who may be a witness to the collision or who have any information about a possible suspect vehicle.

UPDATE: Sept. 26, 2013, 6:30 p.m. - Boise Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen a collision between a cyclist and the driver of a vehicle early this morning on State Street near North 30th.
The cyclist died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle apparently drove off and has not yet been identified.
The Ada County Coroner has identified the man killed as Victor Haskell, 53 of Garden City. Mr Haskell was found deceased of scene of blunt force trauma. Officers say he suffered a visible traumatic head injury.
Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise Police are considering the death of a bicyclist this Thursday morning to be a hit and run. Authorities received a call from a woman at 8:31 a.m. who said she had found a man lying on the sidewalk with a bicycle nearby. When police arrived, they found the man had died. The Boise Police Crash Reconstruction team is currently investigating the incident. Evidence uncovered at the scene points to a hit and run. It appears the collision likely occurred in the early morning prior to sunrise.
