Hollister/Gooding, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Idaho Power crews were sent to the Hollister area Monday night after 378 customers lost service. Lynette Berriochoa with Idaho Power said the outage around 6pm was caused by a burned transmission pole that needed to be replaced. The pole had been dry for some time. “On rare occasions a small amount of current can follow the rain water into the pole and start a small fire”, she said. All of this caused the power company to cut electricity from the substation that was nearby in order to replace and reconnect a new pole. Power was restored at 2:15am this Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, in Gooding power went off for 653 customers around 11am Monday when a tree fell into a distribution line. Two crews responded to make the repairs. Power was restored around 5pm.
