Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Hailey Police are investigating possible dog poisonings at a city park. Hailey City Assistant Police Chief Dave Stellers said they have turned over some meat found in a driveway near Heagle Park.
“We just don’t know if it was just some bad meat or if it had been intentionally poisoned. Police were notified of the incident on November 11.
Two dog owners with three dogs told authorities that the pets had eaten meat found on the ground on November 10th. Later the dogs became very ill, Stellers said. Currently police are talking to those in the neighborhood if they know anything about the tainted meat. The animals reportedly suffered severe muscle twitching with is a symptom of poisoning. According to officer Stellers, the dogs have since recovered from what he describes as being very sick. Police are asking that if anyone was in the area on November 10 and witnessed anything unusual, to contact them.
