Boise Police Find Marijuana For Sale At A Daycare
Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - In December, the strong odor of marijuana tipped Boise Police to investigate further a home that was also a daycare. The home, in the 1300 block of South Nash Street near South Orchard and Kootenai Streets, was the residence of 28 year old Korinne Jones.
Two Boise Police officers and the area Neighborhood Contact Officer was called to the home on December 17, 2013. The neighborhood officer had received information from a citizen that drug activity may be occurring in the home.
When police arrived, Jones allowed the officers in the residence where they found evidence of marijuana use and packaging used for it’s sale. Officers seized about 4 ounces of Marijuana and associated paraphernalia from the residence.
When they arrived, officers also found three small children in the home, age 3 to 6 months. Jones had been operating a daycare on the property officials say. One of the children was a resident of the homes. Officers contacted the parents of the other two children, ages 2 to 6 months. The parents quickly came to the home to pick up their children.
Jones daycare license was suspended in December 2013. On March 12, 2014 a warrant for delivery of a controlled substance with a $75,000 bond was issued for the suspect. Police contacted her to urge her to turn herself in. She did that on Tuesday March 18. Her license for daycare remains suspended.
