Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - No one was injured when a private aircraft overturned in a field just north of 2559 Sunridge Circle about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The pilot, Gordon Wood, 60 of Layton Utah told the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s office that he was attempting to take off when he aborted the take off and started a right hand turn at the end of the field. The Sheriff’s office said the prop struck the ground and the airplane flipped over landing on its top. One other person identified at Karen Wood, 57, also of Layton was in the plane. Neither the pilot nor the passenger were injured. The pilot said he had made several successful departures and landings from the same field earlier in the day.

The aircraft, a Piper Cub, had been modified to make it more capable in rough field operations including large tundra tires.
