By KMVT News

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Senior citizens and caregivers from across the Magic Valley came together Thursday to discuss Alzheimer's Disease and how it affects families.

A Boise State professor presented information about Alzheimer’s research and how the brain works.

Conference participants learned about symptoms and how some clinical trials are on the market.

"It's important because it's a tsunami with the baby boomers and the aging population with people getting this disease. We are targeting the caregivers who are trying to deal with the different behaviors that dementia can cause, and it's going to explode within our population," explains Shawna Wasko, CSI Office on Aging.

If you're a caregiver and would like to be part of a support group, call the CSI Office on Aging at 736-2122.
