Tools

By Brittany Cooper

Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) We now have a better idea of just how bad the damage was from the Beaver Creek Fire.

The BAER team has released its preliminary findings and there is an increased probability for flooding and debris in flood prone areas and near steep burned hill–slopes. It also reveals an increased threat to human life and safety, as well as property in flood prone areas.

The natural recovery of hill–slope stability is expected to take between three and five years.

The complete assessment should be finished by September 10th.
They plan on submitting the report by the 13th.

The public is urged to avoid driving through flooded creeks and be aware of hazardous trees.
