By KMVT News

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) September 7th, 2014.

That's the date set for Big Ed Beckley to attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon.

Tuesday afternoon that dream came closer to becoming a reality for the stuntman.

Beckley Media and the Jerome County Commissioners met to discuss a preliminary mass gathering application for the event.

Issues discussed included a security plan, vendors, medical personnel and much more.

Representatives from both sides of the canyon were in attendance.

"Today we issued a preliminary permit based on the written decision from our attorney, with a few restrictions on there. July 7th is the security plan deadline, and we have a few other issues that we need to clarify that they will bring back to us by that date also," explains Charles Howell, Jerome County Commissioner.

Beckley Media announced a few of their plans for the jump.

They included the pre-sale of only 10 thousand tickets,

Along with the jump, it’s possible that multiple events would take place in the City of Jerome, including a monster truck show and some kind of concert.
