Bureau Of Reclamation Dedicates New Heyburn Building

By Jay Michaels

Heyburn, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Bureau of Reclamation has a brand new building in Heyburn.

The Bureau, which manages water in southern Idaho, was in its old building in Burley for 70 years. This morning they held a ribbon cutting and had guided tours of their new facility.

Roland Springer, Manager of the Upper Snake Field Office, says, "Here in this building, we have about 26 employees, it's about 10,000 square feet. It's modern, it has great energy efficiency features. It has natural lighting. It has recirculated water."

The building's air is also recirculated, which brings it up to modern energy saving standards. The Bureau of Reclamation oversees eight dams and three hydropower projects in southern Idaho.
