CSI Students Collecting Shoes For Area Kids

By Brittany Cooper

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Local College of Southern Idaho students are looking for your shoes.

Kicks for Kids is a community service project for CSI Registered Nursing students.

They say 21% of Idaho children live in poverty and felt collecting gently used and new shoes would serve the children well.

"Kids are going back to school and parents are realizing the shoes don't fit them anymore and they both need them and need to get rid of their old ones. So it's a great time to clean out your closet and to contribute to a good cause at the same time," says Emily Jackson, an RN student at CSI.

There are currently two locations where you can donate, at Swensen's on Washington Street South.

Or in the Commons of the CSI Health Sciences and Human Services building.

The shoe drive ends October 4th.

The Optimist Club is helping with distribution of the shoes.
