Caldwell Business Goes Up In Flames

CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) - A fire swept through the walls of a Caldwell business early Thursday morning.

Caldwell Fire officials say the fire was reported at Waymouth Interior Trim, near 9th Street and Albany Street, at about 5:30 a.m. Police tried their best with extinguishers to control the fire, but it quickly spread.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however, investigators were on scene to check out the scene once it was safe to inspect.

"Everything we have is involved with the building," said Terry Waymouth, who owned the business. He had been in the shop for about 24 years. "Our whole life was every day down there. The building is probably toast."

Caldwell Fire says although the building was damaged by the fire, most of the damage will also come from the water it took to fight the blaze.

Waymouth said he isn't sure what the next step will be for the business.
