Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A point of pride for the city of Twin Falls is the walking trail along the canyon rim.

This Wednesday, one local business has become the very first to adopt a portion of that trail.

The moment was commemorated with the installation of a sign stating this fact.

Bridgeview Estates was the first to jump in on the Adopt–A–Trail program.

With the up–keep of the trail being the responsibility of the parks department, Director Dennis Bowyer says that they can't always be there to keep clean.

And that's where this new program comes into play.

"We like to say that we do a pretty good job, but we're not here every day watching and trash kind of blows in. A little community pride that these businesses and hopefully individuals will kind of join us and help keep our trails nice and clean "
Said Director of the Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Department Dennis Bowyer.

The city of Twin Falls is now giving other local businesses and individuals the opportunity to adopt their own section.

And the best part of all... It's free of charge.

If you would like to adopt a portion of the canyon rim trail you can contact the Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Department at 736–2265.
