Charges Announced Against Seattle Pacific University Shooting Suspect

Seattle, Washington (CNN) The man accused in the deadly shooting at Seattle Pacific University remains jailed without bond.

During a news conference Tuesday, King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg outlined the charges against the suspect…

“Today we are filing multiple felony charges against Aaron Ybarra, age 26, for his attack on innocent students at Seattle Pacific University last Friday afternoon. Specifically we are charging one count of murder in the first degree with a firearm allegation for the slaying of Paul Lee, a student at SPU, two counts of attempted murder in the first degree with firearm allegations for other students who were shot, and one count of assault in the second degree with a firearm allegation for pointing a shotgun at a male student who was studying inside the hall.”

Records show Ybarra was involuntarily committed twice because he was suicidal.

A friend said Ybarra tried to get help.
