Chobani Locates Source Of Problem With Yogurt Batch
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Chobani is speaking out about a problem with its yogurt.
Yesterday we told you the company was issuing a voluntary recall on a batch of its yogurt. Today the company issued an official statement about the cause of the problem.
Chobani explained, "We... have identified a type of mold commonly found in the dairy environment. The product in question is less than five percent of our production, and is limited to cups produced at our Idaho facility, which accounts for only one third of our production capacity."
The note continues, "We have been diligently working with our retail partners, and have voluntarily and proactively removed and replaced the vast majority of potentially affected cups."
The Chobani recall is for containers with the code 16-012, which has the expiration dates between September 11th and October 7th of this year.
