Community Baffled Over Hansen Teen's Disappearance
Hansen, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Scheri McClain has been missing for a week and is believed to be traveling with her boyfriend Trevor Bullock. The communities of Kimberly and Hansen are concerned with Scheri's safety, especially since police say Bullock has a violent history.
She has not spoke with her family since November 5th when she was last seen. Eight days later and no sign of Scheri. With all of the vehicles accounted for, her family and friends are wondering when she'll be back home.
"This room is a disaster zone," exclaims Joy McClain, Scheri's mother.
Scheri's bedroom on the night of November fifth is the last place Joy McClain saw her daughter. Scheri never made it to her classes at Hansen High School the next day.
Instead the 17–year old is allegedly with her 22–year old boyfriend Trevor Bullock.
Kimberly Police Chief Jeff Perry weighs in, "he right now has warrants for his arrest out for his probation violation and right now we're looking at felony custodial interference."
Scheri and Trevor met at Arctic Circle the summer of 2012.
"To be honest I really liked Trevor, he's been here in our house, he's been at our church, we've done dinner together," adds Joy.
But then the truth about Trevor came out.
Joy exclaims, "she was upset because we were trying to keep her from having any contact with Trevor. We just had found some things out that were pretty scary."
With high school graduation and college in sight, Joy is puzzled why Scheri would run away with her boyfriend.
"She was honestly pretty upset with us....i was surprised by the running away though," adds Joy.
Friend Destiny Day adds, "I'm super surprised. It just doesn't seem like the girl she is...he is definitely an interesting person. The stuff I've read about him just isn't right for mankind. I'm really scared for Scheri."
Day has grown up with Scheri and describes her as being energetic and outgoing.
"I hope she comes home, she's safe and not harmed because if she is, the community will be devastated. We just want her back safely and soon," says Day.
Joy adds, "Please honey we want you to come home. We are concerned about your safety, just know that whatever action we have taken is because we love you."
Scheri's uncle has created a Facebook page with the simple yet clear title, "Find Scheri."
Now the Kimberly Police Department did not issue an Amber Alert because the situation does not meet the criteria.
Scheri McClain has been listed with the national center for missing and exploited children from day one.
Meanwhile, Kimberly Police have sent out an "Attempt to Locate" to agencies across the western United States.
