By Brittany Cooper

Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Beaver Creek Fire has reached 82% containment as a new management team takes over.

The fire has consumed 111,387 acres or 173 square miles.

The Great Basin Incident Management Team (IMT) 1, Beth Lund Incident Commander, will officially transfer command of the fire to Marty Adell’s Type 2 IMT tonight at 8:00 p.m.

The new team will be supported by both air and ground resources in order to complete containment, rehabilitation of fire lines, and retrieval of fire equipment, such as portable pumps and sprinklers.

More crews will be released from the fire today so they will be available to go to other fires or respond to new fires.

There is another Red Flag fire weather warning in place for later in the day because of the chance for strong gusty winds from thunderstorms.

The fire information office is open to answer questions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., at 877-711-1333.
