DEQ, Health And Welfare Address Ketchum Air Quality

By Jay Michaels

Ketchum, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Smoke from Southern Idaho wild fires is causing air quality to drop dramatically in the Wood River Valley.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality indicates the air quality near Ketchum is now very unhealthy. Occasionally, it dips into the hazardous category, which is the worst possible air quality.

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare recommends that you should not do heavy work or exercise outdoors. Older adults, small children, and people with respiratory conditions or heart disease should stay inside.

Weather patterns and air quality are expected to remain the same for the next two days.
