The Masonic Lodge has been at the corner of Blue Lakes Boulevard and Falls Avenue since 1956.

Today, the decades old building is coming down.

And what will go in its place?

Josh Palmer, Public Information Officer, explains, “we had a building permit from Maverik Country Stores, which will be building a convenience store in that area. It’s about a 4,600 square foot building with a gas station that allows about twenty pumps."

Local residents have mixed emotions about the change.

Linda Baker, resident of Twin Falls, adds, "for a gas station to be going in there I think we have enough of them on the corner. If they are going to tear down the building, I think they should get something that really adds to Twin Falls."

Warren Hinton, resident of Twin Falls, disagrees, saying, "I think we need a new good gas station, a modern one. I'm glad to see it come through."

Baker notes, "since it's a piece of history they can probably do something with the building. I do think they need to at least keep the sign up so we know it was there."

The demolition process is moving quickly and the building is set to be torn down within a couple of days.
Palmer asserts, “the Maverik Country Store will bring some vibrancy to that corner. It will bring some business to that area. We also think because of the traffic in the area it will be more convenient for commuters. It should be more convenient for our citizens."
Bringing new business to a growing city.
