Pocatello, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Pocatello police and the Bannock County Sheriff’s office drove through a Pocatello neighborhood with their lights and sirens on, hoping a caller would see or hear them. At about 6:35 this Friday morning a 911 operator received a call from a person who claimed they had driving off of a cliff. Initially the caller could only give his location as being between Pocatello and Utah. Further questioning by the dispatcher discovered that the man was in the Pocatello area, in the vicinity of Century High School.

Pocatello Police located the vehicle southbound on Interstate 15 near milepost 65 which is north of the High School.

The Idaho State Police say they investigated the crash. Evan Daniel Frampton, 58, of Layton, UT, was driving south on Interstate 15, near milepost 65, in a 1999 Infiniti I30 sedan.
Authorities say he drove into the median, overcorrected, slid off the right side of the road, and went through a right of way fence. The vehicle came to rest at the top of a cliff above Hildreth Road. The victim was transported to the local hospital for treatment.
