California ( FOX )
An elementary school teacher in California is accused of giving her co–workers pot in their food at a pot luck dinner.
Police arrested 47–year–old Teresa Badger on suspicion of poisoning after a month and a half long investigation.
Many people reported feeling sick or under the influence after the potluck back in November, with one female going to the hospital.
Tests found she had THC in her system which is a substance in marijuana.
Neighbors of the suspect say they're surprised by the arrest.
Lt. Frank Hartig of the Benicia Police Department noting, "One of the partygoers was rushed to the hospital with severe reactions. She was hospitalized. The very next morning, another partygoer was taken to the hospital because she continued to feel like she was under the influence of something. She wasn't exactly sure what it was."
One parent even took food home to her child who later got sick.
Witnesses say Badger admitted to putting pot in the pot luck food, according to police.
